English Version
Organizational
- Find a Bremser (5h, 6 Monate); Sandra makes the Contract.
Reserve rooms for the tutorials (Currently Sabine Lessel reserves rooms; lessel@cs.uni-saarland.de)
- Reserve rooms for exams (Sabine); favorite places to have exams: Informatik lecture halls, Physics and Chemistry lecture halls, Math lecture halls
Creating the Web-Site for the course
- Make a new subdirectory (e.g., courses/cl-ss05)
- Reuse the framework of the previous version, if there is a previous version available
- Create the database (the System adminstrator does this)
- Adjust the text or add new text
- Check the PHP-generated sites
- Setup a mailing list (with Mailman) and/or
- Setup a Forum (the System administrator does this)
- Always setup the Web-Site with the group ps-m (so that Smolka as well as the tutors can work on it; Group needs read and write permission)
- Internal Web-area (ROOT/internal or ROOT/punkte) is to be protected by htpasswd (if necessary get help from a System administrator)
Weekly Work
- Create/correct[grade] assignment sheets and put them on the net (PS/PDF)
- Create a sample solution and put it on the net (PS/PDF)
Exams
- Create/correct[grade] the exam
- Do the exam yourself under exam conditions
- The following list is required for the exam room (the arrangement of the students may vary), constructed using scripts or the secretary, resp.:
- alphabetic seating chart on the Web (for all participants)
- graphic overview of the exam room, with the allocated places of the seating chart recorded, numbered from left to right, front to back, from the lecturer's point of view. (The secretary does this, if she has an attendence list.)
- The attendence list is in order of placement to help with identification
- Info Page (Handy-Number (if applicable), overview of who is taking part, Hausmeister telephone numbers). There is always per exam room: 1 Prof/Assi and enough Bremsers depending on the size of the lecture hall.
- Row marks for the occupied row (Row X, Seat x1 - x2) that are put on the left side
- 2x "Klausur -- bitte nicht stören" sign to hang on the door
- 2x participant list of the room, sorted alphabetically by last name (printed on one side to hang on the door)
- 2x participant list of all participants, sorted alphabetically by last name (to consult upon request)
- Printed and sealed exam copies (each consisting of X page/Y sheets), printed in seating order. [The exam copies contain a code indicating which lecture hall and seat the copy is intended for.]
- Extra exams with empty cover sheet
- A sufficient quantity of Tesafilmroller (a German equivalent of Scotch tape) per room
- Reserve the lab's seminar room for grading the exams.
- Put the results on the web including the points and the grades, even for those who have not passed. [There should be some indication telling those who have not passed.]
- Organize the exam inspection. [This is when the students can look at their graded exams and complain about not getting enough points.] (Reserve the lab's seminar room, have the secretary sort the exams alphabetically in a box). Make the date/time/place when students can see their exams known by putting it on the web/sending it to the mailing list.
Creating the Certificates (Scheine)
- Either the secretary does this or use a script
- When certificates are created and signed, then send a mail to the list, when/where they can be picked up from the secretary.
Reporting the Grades
Communicate to the Prüfungsamt via EMAIL (see punkte/meldung.html) to Frau Erika Schuler <schuler@tf.uni-saarland.de> [NOTE: This is out of date. Check with someone to get the current procedure.]
- Give a text copy of the data to the secretary for the Archive.
Data Protection
- After every course the following data should be deleted from the web:
- 1 Solutions
- 2 Discussion Board
- 3 Names of Tutors
- 4 Access to personal accounts (putting an .htaccess file with 'deny from all' in registration will handle this)
- The assistant for the course is responsible for this. The data should be deleted after the 3rd exam.
