New features
To appear: Checking this box will mark the paper as to appear, both on the main publications page, in the details view, and in the note field of the generated BibTeX. This makes it easy to unmark papers once they have been published.
Generate BibTeX key: The BibTeX key is used as the filename of the details html page as well as all linked pdf documents. You can generate the key by pressing the button, the generated key combines the author name(s), the year, and the first words of the title. When you change a key of an existing paper, the corresponding files will be automatically renamed to keep everything consistent. Keys must be unique.
PDF Documents: In addition to the actual publication, you can link pdf files of talk slides and posters to the publication.
HTML comment: Here you can add arbitrary HTML that will be displayed below the abstract on the details page. For example, copyright information (as required by Springer) can be placed here.
Link to other papers: If a paper is an extended version of another paper, this information can go here. Simply add some text (up to 255 characters), along the lines of "This paper extends a [ID previous paper]". Any text in square brackets [ID Text] is converted to a link with the text Text to the paper ID. You can find the ID of a paper once you are logged in (the number in front of the title in list view, or in the heading in details view). The link appears in the details view, but not on the system-wide overview list page. If you want the link to appear on your personal publications page, see below.
How to add a publications list to your homepage
You can automatically generate a listing of your publications on your own homepage. The first step is to find your author id by selecting your name from the menu on the main publications page. You find your id in the url (e.g. authorid=97).
Then simply add the following code to your page (it must be a php homepage!), replacing MYID with your author id:
<?php
include("/srv/ps/httpd/html/Publications/list.php");
$selectedId = MYID; // Your author ID
pub_list_view();
?>The listing can be customized in several ways by setting certain variables before calling pub_list_view. Here is an example explaining all the variables:
<?php
include("/srv/ps/httpd/html/Publications/list.php");
$selectedId = MYID; // Your author ID
$ignorePubIDs = "12,13,14"; // Do not show publications with IDs 12, 13, and 14
$smallYear = 1; // Do not generate headings for the years, but put the years into the publication paragraph
$sortByAuthor = 0; // Do not sort by last name of first author, but only by year and publication ID
$showLinkedPubs = 1; // Show linked publications on the overview list page
// Group publications by BibTeX type, with the given headings
// The possible BibTeX types are
// ARTICLE, BOOK, BOOKLET, CONFERENCE, INBOOK, INCOLLECTION, INPROCEEDINGS,
// MANUAL, MASTERSTHESIS, MISC, PHDTHESIS, PROCEEDINGS, TECHREPORT, UNPUBLISHED
$bibGroups = array(
"Peer-reviewed conference and workshop publications" =>
array(INPROCEEDINGS,ARTICLE,INBOOK),
"Theses" => array(PHDTHESIS,MASTERSTHESIS),
"Technical reports" => array(TECHREPORT,MISC)
);
pub_list_view();
?>To find the publication IDs for the ignorePubIDs feature, simply log in, the IDs are displayed in list view as well as details view.
