Semantics: Exams

General information

There will be three exams: two regular written exams during term time and a re-examination at the beginning of the next term. In order to get the credit points for the course, you will have to pass two of these three exams. In each exam you can achieve a maximum of 120 points.

To take part in the first regular exam (the mid-term exam) you need to have achieved at least 50% of the points in the tests preceding it. As a bonus, the two tests with the least number of points will be dropped from this computation.

To take part in the second regular exam (the end-term exam), you need 50% of the possible points from all tutorials following the mid-term exam. Again, the two tests with least points will be dropped from this computation.

You can only take part in the re-exam if you have passed one regular exam and have achieved at least one third of the points in the other regular exam.

In case you do not participate in the mid-term or end-term exam due to illness, you may present us with a medical certificate within one week after the exam. If you do so the missed exam will be credited one third of the possible points, i.e., if you pass the respective other regular exam, you will be admitted to the re-exam.
